I am not a mac user (at least not yet) but under $30 for the new snow leopard seems awfully cheap. Why is so?

Apple really desires that the majority of their users have the same OS, pricing it cheap is one good assurance that that would happen. Secondly, it is not a major overhaul, which might have led Apple to price it much lower.

It doesn't have any new features. Though it may be a huge technological leap underneath, Apple's mainstream user base is looking for new, flashy, cool stuff before they hand over $130.

$29 (or $10 if you bought your Mac recently) is a price that I don't see how anyone can refuse. For all the small, but subtle improvements that just makes using the OS easier, quicker, and more efficient, $29 is a downright bargain.

Is it easy to install Leopard? All my computers came with the operating system already installed and I've never installed a new OS.
