iPad mini Why is there no smart case for mini ipad?

I saw them in my local Best Buy when I picked up my Mini at lunch time. the only color they didnt have it stock was the red. but the red smart covers seem to be an Apple exclusive to their retail stores and online store.

Looks that way - I was hoping to pick one up soon. I'd rather not get the Smart Cover as I quite like a scratch free back. Might pick up a cheap sleeve as a temporary measure.

Apple will happily sell you a smart case after everyone buys a smart cover first.

I don't know why there isn't a smart case. I really like the smart case for my larger iPad.

I think the Smart Case was a mistake.

Hopefully they only offer the Smart Cover.
