Hello everyone, just want to share my frustration on mini DVI on my macbook pro ... why APPLE would do this... why they couldn't use HDMI or at least DVI. Apple always try to make things easy, but please cut those hands who invented that damn mini display port

It's gives me some white dots on 30'' when my old dell runs it's perfect ... dam n. Is there any way maybe to retrofit it to hdmi...

Assuming it is a new Macbook Pro, then it is a mini DisplayPort and not mini DVI. Mini DVI is different.

How do you currently have it set up?

HDMI will not work; you need a Dual-Link DVI signal to push the 30" monitor to the optimal resolution. HDMI is not Dual-Link.

There is only one solution currently, and it is the Apple mini-DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter that does not seem to work for a large number of people.
