iPad Why no 6 rows of icons like the 6/6+

With the move to 6 rows of icons on the homepage of the new 6/6+, why does the iPad Air and iPad mini rerina still retain only 5 rows?
 
It would interfere with the vertical and horizontal space symmetry. I don't see why Apple doesn't allow it, but aw well.
