Why no audio in on MBPr?

Just wondering why they would get rid of this? I was planning on doin some live streaming from Xbox/commentating over gameplay with the MBPr, does anyone know if there's an adapter i'm supposed to use to over complicate this simple computer feature? lol

I'm not sure, but perhaps the headphones jack is a combination audio in/out (4 pin) like on iOS devices?

By adapter, do you mean microphone? What do you mean "no audio"?

You should probably reread your post. It certainly doesn't make much sense to me.

EDIT: Maybe you are referring to the combination headphones and mic jack?

Headphone port

Support for Apple iPhone headset with remote and microphone
Support for audio line out (digital/analog)

its probably like my 2010 macbook pro 13in that the line out is also a line in headphones and mic

I was told theres no input on the MacBook pro for audio, only outputs audio thru the headphone jack. I heard I would have to use a USB connection of some sort for recording audio on to the laptop, is this not true?

my rMBP can use the headphone jack for line in and line out.
