Why no iPhoto for iPad 1 owners?

This totally doesn't make sense to me.

I have the Camera Connection Kit and often use it to download pics from my camera in order to e-mai to friends and family. I thought it would be great to integrate iPhoto on my iPad with iPhoto on my Mac.

No go...

When I went to download the app, I was told that I need a front facing camera... What the heck foes a FRONT facing camera have to do with iPhoto?

Sorry for the vent, it was just frustrating getting this error message. Glad my iPad 3rd Gen is coming on Friday.

There was a video of someone that got it to run on his iPad 1. It ran ok, but some functions were incredibly laggy and nearly unusable, which is likely why Apple decided against it.
