Why no landscape 30 pin dock connector port?

Don't know about anyone else, but I use my iPad all of the time in landscape mode. Would of loved to see apple make a side port as well.

Why do u think they didnt make this for the 2nd gen?

When my iPad is in its dock charging, or on the floor near my sofa charging, I really don't care whether it is upways, downways, slantways, or any ways. When I actually use it, the position of the connector is irrelevant.

No sense in putting in the extra hardware which is just going to drive the cost (and size) up even more. I have a stand that lets me put my iPad in any orientation, although when in Portrait the cable is hidden. I don't mind the cable sticking out the side because I usually have the headphone cable plugged in to my sound system as well.
