Why do you think Apple has not released an iPhone with a matte/anti-glare screen?
For those that are outside a lot during the day, it would be a nice alternative. :)

I think it's mainly because of cost.
Glossy screen in all capacities, all colors, GSM/CDMA versions, GSM unlocked + matte screen in all capacities, all colors, GSM/CDMA versions, GSM unlocked = $$$$$$$$$$$

Maybe, I'm not saying I'm right.

If that's a problem, there's plenty of matte screen protectors out there.

Glass

Glass is glossy, but it's way more scratch resistant and recyclable than the old plastic PowerBook/MacBook screens.

You can get really nice matte finished films from a company called Power Support or from kiosks in most malls.

The other day we were working outside. under a covered Patio.

two people had laptops, a MacBookPro and a Windows machine.

MBP had a glossy screen. part of the screen had a huge glare...but the rest could be easily seen. The Windows laptop had a matte finish. it was barely viewable because of the hazy grey glare. at least with the glossy MBP I could see most and would know right away if it was a glare and could reposition. the Windows at first looked like the screen was breaking and turning grey.

when it is bright, I just adjust/boost my screen brightness.
