Rumours say the larger iPhone, 16 plus will no longer be available in the 17 series. Is it going the way of the 13 mini - are sales not as good as expected
I hope not as it’s a great combination of all round phone and camera with excellent battery life and not as bulky as the pro phones

I don’t think sales are that great, I know no one who’s bought one and honestly I’ve never seen one in public being used.

For what ever the value, but, I had a sale rep from a major U.S. cell store tell me the most returned cell phone they have are in the 16 series. At least in her store. I recently bought a 15+ via Apple as the 16 series did not appeal to me. Realizing the AI hype would take two years to manifest itself into something usable, and not fond of SIRI, the 16 was overkill and the 15+ kept me out of the AI software update fiascos sure to happen. Of course, I will have to make some decisions about my iPad M4 Pro, as to updates on it.

I got one, and I think it’s a magnificent value. Sure, it’s fairly close to the Pro in terms of value, but it has a larger screen and a significantly better battery life. All I lost that I maybe would’ve liked from the 16 Pro is the 5x Optical Zoom.

I do think people just opt for the standard 16 and save the difference, perhaps for people who don’t care about having a better battery life they just get the standard 16.

I don’t need the Plus’ battery life (my Xʀ on iOS 12 was more than enough), but I liked the larger screen and battery life combo so as to upgrade to the Plus.

Yes when I was looking for another clear case there were few compared to the other 16 models. Dealers said there was little demand for them ? Like 13 mini

I have seen a few of the 16 models in the wild, and have liked them. A few things I have noticed

1) Carrier deals for the plus phones, for whatever reason, have not been that good. It would be cheaper for me to get a Pro phone from AT&T than a Plus
2) The price of the Plus starts to run into the Pro models, which have a lot of features (always on, zoom) that are missing

I have wanted to go to the regular line for a while, but there are always features that are missing. Based on how slowly Apple moves some features to the regular line, it makes more sense to buy a pro phone and hold on to it for three or four years. You get a better experience over the four years

Exactly sales are poor. People go up to the pro max when spending that much for a larger phone. Surprisingly too. The average person buying iPhone they see the price and the word pro, and when they’re willing to spend $1k they want a special pro even if it’s just for every day pic. My dad’s thinking is like that. He got the pro max and wanted the pro. I’m sure Apple employed Psychologist have studied these and done surveys post purchase.
