I'm not liking the idea of a software solution. I'm thinking no way it's foolproof.
So why?

This is actually bugging me . I really like the ipad form factor, and now they screwed it up. What's next?

Uhh what? They made the mini's side bezel smaller to it's easier to hold, and so it's more uniform with the iTouch and iPhone design.

I would almost expect the iPad to follow suit with the next redesign.

And the software solutions works, test it on your iOS 6 device.

This is a classic 'two camps' scenario. Some like it not, some like it a lot.

Can't win :D

Anyway, I've got a point ( I think). I'll buy one and see.

Whatever.

I mean, you're complaining about something you haven't even tried in person yet.

Just seems silly, seeing as the software solution works flawlessly on my iPhone 5.

Ok, maybe your right. It's true it would be very uncharacteristic of apple to error in this fashion. I don't know.

How do you have a point? There's a reason the bezel is smaller on the Mini.
