I am jailbroken and not on an iPhone data plan, shouldn't i at least see the red dot to indicate a new voicemail? I do not. Is there something else i need to do?

What network are you on? I can think of 2 issues. 1. You are on AT&T and visual voicemail is data, thus no notification. 2. You are not on AT&T and voicemail may not be working as expected.

I'm on AT&T but using the MediaNet plan. i just changed. My wife's phone, with no data plan, at least gets the little red dot as notification. I get nothing.
