So I starting the process to upgrade my 16GB iPhone 3G last night to OS4. After a few hours I stopped it because it kept getting hung up during the backup, or so I thought. I then deleted all the video on my phone, thinking that would speed thinks up with the backup. I got my data down to less than 3GB, started the download again and went to bed.

After letting the download run all night, I checked it today only see it again appears to be stuck at around 1% of the backup process. I will let it run for another day, but are you kidding me?

Apple......WTF! How many days does it take to finish this freaking upgrade?

It's finally completed! All my contacts are gone and swiping the screen is very slow and laggy. WTF APPLE, you just screwed up my iPhone!!!!!

The 3G really was not meant for iOS4. They did the best they could but it seems like the majority of people using 3G's are having some lag issues.

Okay so after restarting my iPhone, I have all my contacts back. But it still is extremely slow!

If Apple knew this would happen, then they should have included the 3G iPhone as a device not to receive OS4. I am so pissed and wished I had never upgraded!

Some people aren't having any issues at all. My 3G is lagging pretty bad but I'm getting my 4 within the next day or two so I'm not gonna sweat it.

The 3G's RAM just isn't cutting it- at least that seems to be the issue I'm having.

Somehow my iPhone worked itself out of being so slow, working much better now.

I did however, notice that my Wifi signal strength isn't at the usual 3 full bars in my home anymore. Now it is only 2 bars, unless I am in the same room as my wireless router, then it goes back to 3 full bars. I am also not noticing any improvements in locating Wifi signals. Back when OS 3.0 was released, Apple reduced the iPhone's ability to find local Wifi signals. I can only assume to save battery life. Guess it's gone for good.
