iPod touch Why should I have to...

pay for the January software update when I just purchased my IPT today? So, I guess my IPT was on the store shelf for a while because it did not come with the update. Now Apple wants me to pay for the update. I think it should be free because I bought it well after the announcement. I bought it at Wal-Mart because my closest apple store in an hour away. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know a resolution?

The iPod should have been reduced in price by $20 to make up for having to buy the update separately. If it wasn't, you've been ripped off.

all retailers are selling the touch for 20 less, so you are not paying for the update.

Yeah, I realized that was the deal after I posted the question. Mine was $377.77, I thought I was getting a deal but I guess not. Even so, I love this thing! Thanks.
