Hello everyone :)

While this is my first post on the forum, I read it everyday for the last couple months..

And the reason for this first post is related to firmware 3.1 for iPhone..

I'm not really curious on when will it be released, but on why the delay in it's release..

Since Beta 3 is almost a month old, I wonder if they are waiting for any event or product release to release it..

Do you know if any apple event is being announced for September that is related to the iPhone also?

Have a nice weekend :)

I'm sure that the we [developers] would see an iTunes 9 beta.

Nope, not if it had significant new features in it you wouldn't, no one will see it till official release if this is the case.

And besides, using 8 doesn't hamper your iPhone development anyway.

But i agree with Eraserhead, im sure its tied into the Sept annoucement, iPods, iTunes etc.

Is it possible that it has something to do with AT&T finally getting MMS going? I know it wouldn't affect everyone worldwide, but Apple might be thinking it's easier to do it all at once?

The answer to your question...

A delay would indicate that an actual release date for 3.1 was given. News flash: there hasn't been a release date. Hence, no delay.

I am running beta 3 as i am a developer and i will tell you it is not ready for main stream. There are a lot of small things that the general public wont like to deal with. be patient.

It seems like Apple wants to fix the problems themselves, if that wasn't the case, we would already seen a Beta 4.

The same thing was said about 3.0 right before they announced the release date. The beta is a beta for a reason. You guys test it, tell Apple what's wrong with it, then they fix it for the final release. It's not surprising that the beta has a lot of issued. Most do, even in final beta release.
