Why the hell are you all so tense about preordering?

You're still not going to have the phone in your hands for another 9 days. You're in the same situation you are yesterday. Some of you might say "Oh now I'm guaranteed one on launch day now." You'd all be guaranteed one anyway because you already know if you have the funds to afford it when it's released.
 
just because you have the funds to buy one doesn't mean anything.. good luck trying to get one if you don't preorder.. and without having to camp out and wait in long lines.
 
Preorder sales will sell out. You'll see.

Someone will hate being "that guy" who says, "I'll wait" and ends up waiting past the launch day.

I just want to get it over with.... It's like speeding up for a red light.
 
Not to mention the fact that pre-orders were taken up until 3 days before launch last year. There's no reason to rush.

Because a lot of unanswered questions should be about to be answered, like:

- How much is an iPhone on Pay As You Go/SIM free?
- Which networks are offering them?
- Which colours are available?
 
Because we're the same generation of midnight releases. Harry Potter, PS2, etc. We thrive on them.
 
Well, I for one can't go to an Apple/Best Buy/Radio Shack/AT&T store. And my experience for buying the other iphones indicates I will not get the color/GB I want even when I stand in line. I want white if at all possible.

Also, when I go to the Apple store, they never have the accessories I want on launch day.

Oh calm down. Most people do this because it's fun.
 
Once we can pre-order, it's just one step closer. :D

Then the next wave of threads will be, "DID YOUR IPHONE SHOW UP AT YOUR FRONT DOOR YET??" or "JUST SAW THE FEDEX TRUCK BUT IT WASN'T FOR ME!" :(

Simple, because once pre-ordered your worries are gone. You know for sure you will get it on launch day and not have to worry about waking up early to fight lines to be sure you get one.

Plus, what else is there to do right now?

I agree!

The earlier you Pre-order, the ahead you are in the Queue. If you get it immediately when Pre-order opens, then you might be getting it on 23rd evening :)
