Hello,

I have been reading about these "random" upgrades that come with the refurbed Macs that Apple sells. I only hoped for one when I got my Mini. Well, it didn't happen, but then again, I wasn't really expecting it.

Ended up getting a MBP a month later and luckily I got a 160g HD instead of the 120g as advertised. Yea! The only down fall (boo) is what I believe is one bad pixel, but I have to look REAL hard to find it. So given these circumstances, it isn't going back. Like I said, I have to look VERY hard to find it. At least I think it's a bad pixel.

How do these upgrades happen? A friend and I were talking about this issue and he seems to think people upgrade their computers, then send them back to Apple for repair, then the computers get "refurbed" and sold again. I cant imagine that many "upgrades" getting sold as refurbed.

What do you think? How and why do these refurbed computers get upgraded?

I will thoroughly enjoy my "free" 40 gig !

Thank you Apple!! I'm yours for life (or until you come out with the equivalent to Vista)!
