Why the x?

Just wondering why the iPhone x exists? Wouldn't this phone in the 8 body running iPad pro software that makes calls be a much better idea?

An iPhone pro with pen would be neat I think. Why does the x exist with all the gestures and swipes and just utter weirdness? iPhone pro would be stellar in my view.

Apple has to finally match some specs or else some were going to leave. Also a flagship year. Many, even not gadget folks, want the full screen. My wife, not techie can’t wait to get the X. I’m an iPhone devotee and I’m passing.

one of the reasons; that after years Apple can finally give you the idea that you are holding a ''complete'' new desgined iPhone.

WTS, IMO Apple has no intentions of selling as many of the X as normal launches. I think the current launch was timed to burn some demand. Keeping same chip in 8 as X helped justify for many.
