Why trash isn't emptying?

I have been noticing, when I empty the trash and restart right away upon restart the trash is full. This happens on more then one of my macs any idea?

Is it the same files in your trash? On my PB I get a "recovered files" folder that always comes in the trash.

It's normal and they're safe to delete.

yeah i'm not worried about deleting em, it's just they seem to keep coming back after a restart. And it's bugging me lol

Have you tried secure delete option?

You securely emptied the Trash and now they're not reappearing after boot up?

yeah after the secure empty and a restart the trash was empty

Nice and simple . I get those folders on my iBook sometimes too. It's usually a song or something they recorded that they sent me from months earlier. Very strange stuff.

After starting up in Mac OS X, sometimes you might find a "Recovered Items" folder in the Trash. Don't worry, you can safely delete this folder.

This folder contains items that are periodically flushed from your computer's temporary directory (/tmp).

Mac OS X: "Recovered Items" in the Trash can be safely deleted

I'd be very interested to hear if they come back though (they don't appear all the time anyway) because I don't understand how securely emptying the Trash would eliminate them from reoccurring.

yeah, im not sure either but it worked for me on a new intel imac and a mac mini
