Why triple clicking to go back one song? When triple anything is hard for some people and is generally discouraged as a UI practice.

Well, lets see. When Apple introduced single clicking for Pause/Play and double clicking to skip, it was obvious the back function was missing.

Why not hold the button for 2 seconds to go back? Easy and intuitive --try it.

The only possible explanation I can come up with is that holding the remote button is being reserved for a future use.

Is OS supported voice dialing coming?

I say yes.

Any other explanations?

Keep the motion the same for the related actions.

One click - pause
Two clicks - forward
Three clicks - back

It may seem odd but I believe that by keeping them all relatively the same people will remember better.
