Hey guys,

I'm new to the MAC world. Just have a quick question for you. What is up with TUESDAY? Why is everyone saying that new Macbook will be released on some Tuesday? Why not Friday??

Traditionally, Tuesday is the day reserved for all product releases and announcements from Apple. I believe Tuesday encourages the best response as far as AAPL stock is concerned.

Music, games, and movies, and other things are released on tuesdays as well. Not specifically by Apple, I mean industry-wide.

What he said. Almost all new DVDs and Blu-ray Discs are released on Tuesdays. Most video games seem the same way (NCAA Football 09 came out today). Apple likes the Tuesday releases, so they stick with them for the most part.

Tuesday makes sense from a certain perspective.

Monday is the first day back to work after the weekend (if you take off on the weekend) and gives you a day to prepare for any last minute problems. It is towards the middle of the week which gives you a few days to move products into place in stores before the weekend buying frenzy if the product is launched on the same day.

Why not Friday?

Friday is the dumping ground for bad news that needs to be forgotten over the weekend before the new week starts.

Because Tuesday is the only day of the week when Steve Jobs awakes from cryogenic freezing.

When I worked as a secretary (eons ago) it was common knowledge that the best day for people to receive important mail correspondence was Tuesday. It was the least cluttered work day. (USPS mail, for all you under-30 crowd.)
