In System preferences > Security> Firewall> Advance, I see two iStatLocalDaemon. How come there are two? Is this normal and if not, what is the problem?

Don't know. Do you have that daemon installed twice on your system? For each of the two in the list, right-click (or control-left-click) and do Show in Finder. Do the two entries correspond to two different files in your file system?

when I right click to show in finder, one and then the other, an istat local folder shows up and shows the same file.

At some point you installed iStat Menus by Bjango, and gave the daemon permission to accept connections, which is probably just fine. Why you have two entries corresponding to the same binary I don't know.

I'd probably just delete both entries from that Firewall-related list, and then wait for the app to ask permission again. Probably that will leave you with just one entry in perpetuity.

Or just ignore the issue completely. :) Or contact Bjango.
