Sad to say, I've been allowing updates without paying close attention. I knew my M1 Mini was going to update overnight, but this morning it seemed to force me to accept having my Desktop moved to my iCloud Drive, and now the icons from my 2012 MBP, which is running High Sierra, also show on the Mini Desktop.

How do I find my OS update history? I'm wondering if I am a new Ventura user as of today.

Turn off syncing Desktop and Documents to iCloud Drive. Sounds like you may have inadvertently activated iCloud or that feature. Or maybe the update did it, but I've never had it turn on automatically after installing updates.

I always have turned it off, hate that feature.
