Prior to upgrading to iOS 5, I logged on to me.com to use the Free Find My iPhone service. I saw that page that said I had to use iCloud.com to find my iPhone. I guessed that meant that Apple had automatically signed me up to iCloud. Which was fine I suppose..

..until I upgraded to iOS 5. Even though I chose 'Don't Use iCloud', iCloud was setup on my iPhone. That made me a little mad, the upgrade had automatically deleted my Free Find My iPhone account and set it up through iCloud. Was that supposed to happen? I will never know.

Which brings me to my question:
Why is 'Documents and Data' set to ON as default? I was never asked.
Is it required to use Find My iPhone?
