  1. Bring up the status bar information so it fits better next to the notch, if needed make the font of it smaller.
  2. Add an option to unlock the phone without swiping up.
  3. Add control center to the multitasking screen instead of stretching your thumb every time.
  4. Force close apps by swiping up instead of holding one down first. One can simply swipe from bottom to get back.
  5. Get back battery percentage in the status bar.
  6. Safari wider landscape mode.
  7. Customize lock screen force touch buttons.
  8. Hide the "home" bar.
  9. Dark mode is even more important for the X due to OLED burn-ins.
  10. Lower the keyboard or add useful function to the wasted space below the keyboard.
And obvious all the other tweaks everyone uses.

Do you have a jailbreak tweak you wish you had for the X? Tell me!

Also the keyboard weirdness.
Customize the whole notch area. Customize front force touch buttons.
And software out the notch and bottom bar.

Funny!

I don't really need a reason to justify a jailbreak…other than I want the device to look/perform as I see fit.

List your reasons, it's all good, but even if Apple covered them all I'd still jailbreak.

I’d still like a jailbreak for theming purposes. Not being able to place icons where I please on the springboard outside Apple’s basic layout has always been a frustration for me. Having said that, I haven’t jailbroken since iPhone 5 so I can live without it!

I’d also like to be able to change the notch’s ears. Something simple like a tweak to change the battery icon to percentage being the smallest but still handy.

I'm hoping the iPhone X is jailbroken so I can get all my ++apps permanently.

But also for a tweak that would force apps into using the full screen aspect ratio.

Stay on 11.0.1 or go to 11.1? Don't know about you guys, but the battery drain is bad on my X on 11.0.1. From 5:45am til 11pm with casual use\some streaming battery is at 22% by the end of the day. If no security fixes from 11.0.1 -> 11.1 I may as well update right? Just want to make sure I don't miss a JB opportunity

I think the 7+ is a nice jump from the 6s+. For me, the dual camera system, faster processor and IP67 water resistance were big factors, as was a larger screen (upgraded from a 6). The cherry on top was getting 128GB of storage for the same price as 64GB on the 6s+.

the 8's should of never existed
It’s an international phone, not one catered to Americans who fetishize having the top trim level of every consumer item they can afford.

Strategically the 8 series is a master stroke. In 3 years time it will be the inexpensive iPhone that still has more horsepower (comparatively) than any downcycle iPhone before it. The A11 is a beast and will hold up even better over time than any previous A series before it.

What I don’t think people realize is that Apple has been releasing phones that have more than enough oomph behind them to continue working years down the road in ways that they and no other company have done before.

I think this matters most to people who update apps frequently and tend to use their phone as more than a phone.

I have an iPhone 5 as a backup phone and it works very well on iOS 10.3.1. But even if it were back on iOS 6 it would still be usable for me as there is nothing I do on my phones that has changed since 2009.

I use my phone primarily for phone calls and text messages, with some light email and web browsing. Anything that comes up that requires heavier use for me means I get on a computer. Between home and work and the carry bag I take with me there is at least one computer available to me 24 hours a day seven days a week. With in-car WiFi I can use a computer in-between.

I work on a computer with three monitors all day and my main computer at home has six. I have no need to stream movies, play games or do anything else that's going to require this A11 beast you speak of because I don't do any of that on my phone.

I don't take a lot of pictures and 99% of what is in my camera roll is stuff I take so my wife can tell me which donuts she wants me to pick up at Walmart. So dual camera, a bazillion MP tech - don't need it.

Now I realize that I am in a minority on this, but because my demands on a phone can easily be met by almost anything out there I buy based on aesthetics and not features or how powerful the processor is or how wow the camera is.

So, it's great that Apple does all this and everyone tauts how advanced and wonderful all this stuff is. But unless the dual camera can snap a picture of the inside of a box, or the A11 can transmit my text messages directly to my wife's brain I don't need it.

Not being disrespectful at all with either of the below;

If that's all you're using your phone for why do you jailbreak? Those are obviously basic features of any smartphone.

And why do you need SIX monitors? That's mental!! Again no judgement, I use two at work and constantly wish for a third, but SIX?! Doesn't your neck hurt?

Obviously to each their own, but I was curious is all.

No offense taken.

To your points…

Why do I jailbreak?
I have an image in my head of how my phone should look and function. That was easy to do back when my phone was a WinMo phone and CAB files were easy to find and apply. Then I come to iOS and I find out I can't put icons where I want them and I can't put weather on the springboard and the lockscreen and so on.

Jailbreaking allows me to make my phone the way I want it. I won't bore you with the details of how I like it set up, but let's just say Apple and I don't agree on a lot of things when it comes to iOS aesthetics.

Why six monitors
The first reason is practicality. I have a workflow here at work and it benefits me. So, I repeat that process at home with additional alterations such as specific apps on specific monitors, tools from different apps on specific monitors, etc. My monitors are arranged in a 'U' so viewing them is just a matter of turning. The farther monitors tend to have Finder windows for folders that I wish to access but use less frequently. Same with apps.

The second reason is superficial and shallow. The MacPro I have here at work has three. I'm not super fond of Intel Macs and as this MP goes it's pretty much a generic example of the species. I much prefer PowerPC Macs and my Quicksilver G4 was the first to use six monitors. They are now all attached to my Quad G5. That makes my home Mac driving DOUBLE what my MP has.

It's a stupid thing, but it makes me happy. :D

To be honest theming and UI alterations on the springboard and lock screen are all I’ll be jailbreaking for these days so I understand where you’re coming from.

As for your six displays, go for it. I’d spend half my day trying to remember what display I’d hidden my email client or trading platform if I had six!

Eclipse has managed to make things bearable since iOS 7, but I do wish someone had a hatpin to pop Jony Ive's bubble. Blinding white and preschool primary colors are not my idea of an OS.

As to my displays, thanks. I must admit finding my drive icons is somewhat confusing if I change screen resolutions. :D

Insightful stuff. Thanks for the input, I think we all appreciate it.
My point is, with so many negative or things the OP wants to be fixed on the X, and knowing that jailbreak not coming easily these days, makes me wondering just why he bought an X when the current iphone 7 or 8 don't have these issues he complaint about.

iPhone 8/8+ are well proved phone. 100% working touch ID, great screen etc and all of this cost less than the X. The thing is, these days people just want new desings, but in the inside, iphone 8 is for me, the superior phone over the X. But thats just my opinion.

If you had a point, why not post that rather than the obnoxious comment you did?

Now that you've actually made your argument it is valid in that those issues don't exist on an iPhone 8. I would not say that makes the 8 'superior' to the X though myself given the issues from the OP don't bother me much if at all, but that's just me.
