why wont my iphone 6 plus restore from my iphone 5 backup

it loads all the apps but the pics take forever

it took 8 hrs for my videos to load (55 vids that are like 10 secs or less) and 400 pictures

it even stop saying downloading at the bottom of the photos section for some reason eventhough another photo downloads like once an hr

also photostream is gone apparently in ios 8 whats that all about?

I would never restore a older phones backup onto a new phone. Too many weird issues will surface.

Start the phone as new and go from there.

Sounds like it may be a different issue, but I had a problem restoring from an old backup too. I was restoring from an iTunes backup, and everything seemed to transfer across fine (I could see all the music and apps loaded on the phone in Tunes), but the iPhone itself never got past the 'Connected to iTunes' screen, and if I tried syncing again in iTunes it said it couldn't because the iPhone wasn't set up yet. What fixed it was going back and choosing to setup as a new iPhone. Interestingly, when I did this, all the music, apps and data from the attempted restore where there, just as if the restore process had worked perfectly.

I would never restore a older phones backup onto a new phone. Too many weird issues will surface.

Start the phone as new and go from there.

And lose all your app data??
