I just bought a new computer (toshiba notebook) and when I attempt to sync my iphone (2nd gen) it syncs the songs and photos, but nothing else. Is this because it doesn't recognize the new computer or is there a problem withthe phone? I was able to deauthorize the old computer and authorize the new one.

Thanks for your help.

You probably have an exchange account on your phone. If thats the case, syncing the contacts on the machine may not be possible. EAS (exchange active sync) also syncs its email account and calendar appointments.

If thats not it, theres a litany of things that can go wrong.

Have you checked in the "info" tab on itunes? Make sure it's setup to sync everything you want. IIRC, it defaults to not syncing and you need to go in and change it the first time.
