For some reason I can't view some video clips - such as the ones posted on the front page of Macrumors - it's when the PLAY button appears as a white arrow in a red box (see below).

Youtube seems to work fine, so I presume I'm just missing some sort of Plug-In?

I don't get any sort of error message or explanation, just a blank box.

What browser including version on what Mac OS X version with what Flash version and what browser extensions/add-ons do you use?

Does it also happen on other browsers besides the one you use the most?

Sorry...

OSX 10.8.5
Safari 6.0.5

Don't know how to find Flash version??

Works ok in Firefox - but I generally prefer to use Safari (although I'm not sure why!)

Is the white arrow on the red button an indication that the video uses Flash? I have just downloaded the latest Flash player from Adobe, but still not playing the vid.
