I have a set of DVDs that consistently freeze (in the same place every time) 2-3 minutes from the beginning in DVD Player. They freeze on PCs too. The weird thing is, they work fine on regular DVD players!

Why would this happen?

Try cleaning the disc. Dirt can do this frequently. Otherwise the disc is faulty.
The discs are pristine. How can I determine what the fault might be? I find it odd that they freeze when played by a computer but work when played by a standalone player. They are professionally authored discs produced from VHS masters (an old source that can't be reshot, yes I own the copyright), not commercial movie DVDs. The production house, of course, denies it's their problem.

Try another program to play the DVD's. Maybe it is the software not working correctly.
