Am I the only person to realise the mistake Apple would make if they named their next iPhone the "iPhone 5"? Since they subtly included the number 5 shadow in the press invitations they sent, this only just occurred to me! Let's examine the history of iPhone releases:

1st iPhone in 2007: "iPhone"
2nd iPhone in 2008: "iPhone 3G"
3rd iPhone in 2009: "iPhone 3GS"
4th iPhone in 2010: "iPhone 4"
5th iPhone in 2011: "iPhone 4S"
6th iPhone in 2012: "iPhone...5"??? 6th generation called iPhone 5?

C'mon Apple, how does that work?

search

edit: blah i'll just point it out to you. This is obviously the way apple is thinking

original iphone = 1
iphone 3G = part of the 3 familiy
iphone 3Gs = part of the 3 family
iphone 4 = part of the 4 family
iphone 4s = part of the 4 family
iphone 5 = part of the 5 family
iphone 5S = part of the 5 family

most people not on the tech side would be like wtf did the 5 go if they called it 6

Alright, iPhone 4G it is then.

Notice with each major redesign it changes number so that's probably why it's going to be called iPhone 5.

Are you that incompetent that you can't scroll down a little on the first page and see several other useless threads spouting the same information that yours does?

Two words.

GENERAL PUBLIC.

Why is this so hard to understand??

I don't know why so many get hung up on what it will be called. What does it matter? Does it change the way the device will work?

I almost broke my mouse trying to +1 'Like' this post so much. Good God people, give it a ******** rest.

Especially the smarmy 'am I the only person' like somehow the only OP is the only person smart enough to figure it out....yet it's been posted every single week for a year now.
