Why wouldn't I upgrade to the 4S? I'll get a better phone and make a profit

I have the iPhone 4, which I will sell on eBay for around $350+, then upgrade to the 4S for $200. Why wouldn't everyone do this? A better phone and $150 in my pocket.

How much did you pay for your 4? Is it unlocked? What size?

I'm in the same boat. The only risk you run is the 5 comes out in 12 months and you may not be elegible for an upgrade at that time.
 
Probably because everyone doesn't have a clear upgrade available for their iPhone4 - also - you will sell on ebay and pay $30 in fees - $7 in shipping - then you will buy your phone for $200 and pay tax on $700 or $60.00... so maybe you clear $53....

Not that cool if you ask me

Two phone lines/ 2 iPhones seperated by a year! Always able to get the newest iPhone.
 
I'm in the same boat. I bought iP4 on launch day with AppleCare, so I spent $368. No tax in my state. It was just swapped a month ago for home button issues so now I have an immaculate device and the warranty's good for almost another year. I kept the packaging, and I'll give my buyer the earbuds and other accessories from the new phone. If I'm lucky I'll get $450, which will almost be enough to cover an upgrade to 64GB and AppleCare+. Win!
 
I'm gonna sell mine as well. Just trying to figure out the best avenue. I don't particularly want to deal with ebay.
 
Yep, this is how I convince everyone to upgrade every year.

It's SENSELESS if you DO NOT upgrade. Seems counter intuitive, but it really benefits me. Shh, don't tell everyone, or it will stop working ;)
