I personally like the TPU case a lot. I am using a iSkin TPU case. It provides a better protection than PC hard cases.

However, some of my friends just really hate it. They either believe the TPU case is too bulky or too cheap feeling...

If you don't like the TPU case, can you share your thoughts?

All I use are TPU cases. I HATE silicon, and would never use that, but I do like hard shell as well, but with extra protection, like the Candyshell.

For me, TPU is the way to go.

Don't know why people don't like TPU case... I like it... but most people doesn't know what is a TPU case

The Incipio NGP is a thick matte finish TPU case. No finger prints. No warping.

i bought that, tried it on and found it abit thick. Sold it a week later.

i really liked the case mate gelli TPU case, but its gathering too much fingerprints for my liking. They have a new TPU textured series, waiting for people to review it before i get one :)

I used to love them, until I realized that that all the transparent TPU cases turn yellow or light brown after a few months of use. I hate it so I stopped buying them, going through 3-4 cases a year is not working for me.

If someone came up with a TPU cases that resisted yellowing I would buy it in a heart beat!!

Did you use brand name TPU cases or some cheap ebay stuff? interesting to know ;)

The first few were cheap ones I got on ebay and when they started to discolor I purchased name brand cases thinking it would be better and still got yellowing. They took a little longer to turn but eventually they also turned yellow. If you do a search on google for clear TPU cases turning yellow you will see tons and tons of people complain of this.

It has something to do with the UV rays and also the natural oils in your skin that cause the color change. I baby my phones, sometimes too much and still had this happen so I stick to hard plastic cases now to get the clear look i want from my cases.

Interesting to know. my TPU cases are not clear.. so I did not have that experience .. good to know ..thx

here is an example of what I mean. The image on the right is a new clear case (macbook case it looks like) and the one's on the left have turned colors. This iphone 4 case costs $34.99 and still turned yellow.

I did a search and there is a UV-stabilized TPU out there but it doesn't seem like any company is using it for cases yet.

Thats really good to know.. never though about it... :D thx

I'm resurrecting this thread.

I love TPU, but yes, i notice after about 3 months the color (doesnt matter what color, they all do it) start to get a brownish tint.

I just got an i5 case in the mail from Hong Kong, and its nice neon Green, no doubt the neon will fade, and look more like a yellowish green, not exactly puke, but not good looking nonetheless...

All in all, I'm still happy with the price and shock resistance that these TPU cases have...

I don't mind payin 2-4 bucks every couple months to change up the look.

I love this case on my iPhone 4. Incipios website shows OOS for the iPhone 5. Looking to find the frequency case as well since supposedly its the same material.

As well as the Frequency in Mercury-gray. That's the one I really like

I'm really concerned about scratching the outer edges and backing on my phone. Do TPU cases have a soft enough shell to not cause cracking? I normally buy the knock-off rubber cases at the kiosk in the mall because they are 100% rubber and will not scratch the phone in anyway and they provide nice protection around the sides and a little bit on the front (to lay face down).

Thanks in advance for the help.
