You might try explaining a bit more, like where you are copying from and to.
 
You are trying to copy to/from a source that uses Fat 32, which does not support files larger than 4GB.

You probably need to format the portable disc it so it has Mac OS Extended file format. Note that you can only use it with Mac then.
 
if it from fat32 they wont copy marger files

the best way to do it

split the file using Hjslit software (java based) into 2 parts and copy them
 
If macs are better than PCs how come I cant copy files over 4GB ?

I just bought a mac and it is rather frustrating.

Mac's are Better , Your confused, Macs are SUPERIOR to PC's

Thanks for the replies. It wasn't really a question I knew the answer, just a bit of a rant. I am actually quite please with my mac I have just had a few issues moving, editing files etc which has taken me a while to resolve.
