When my macbook is in sleep I would like the wi-fi to stay on. Is there anyway to configure this?

Alright, let's say I simply don't put my computer to sleep and leave it on for long periods of time (possibly overnight). Is this safe to do or is not good for the macbook?

It is perfectly safe and won't hurt a thing, as long as you set the display to go to sleep to extend the life of the backlight.

Alright because I would leave my old desktop PC on for many weeks at a time without turning it off, but I was wondering if I could do the same with a laptop.

Shouldn't really be any different with a notebook, just remember to set it to turn the display off as already stated.
