Wi Fi iPhone 4S

I hold my iPod Touch in one hand and my iPhone 4S in the other hand.

The iPod connects to WiFi the phone does not. What am I doing wrong?
Is there a setting I am missing.

The 4S will connect to WiFi if I go to the room where the AirPort Extreme is located....help.

Hi, did you solve the wi fi issue on your 4s?
I have now had 4, yes 4, Apple Iphone 4s have the wi fi fail since the recent update.
Apple infer they have an issue but it is my fault as I chose to upload the update.
