I use my late 2011 MBA 13" with an external monitor in clamshell mode. Unfortunately in the last week or so (possibly since I updated to 10.7.3) the wi-fi performance is drastically weakened when the lid is closed. As soon as I open it the speed improves greatly. Below are some average speeds I've found:

Lid closed: ~0.2-1.5 Mbps
Lid open: ~8-20 Mbps

It's not a huge inconvenience to leave the screen open, but it does bug me a bit because I like to keep the lid down. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? I'm hoping it's not a hardware problem with my air...

Well...is it not a pity anyway to keep the screen closed as you can use it as a dual screen system??

Unfortunately the wifi antenna runs around the screen so when u close things up you are blocking it.

X2. I know a lot of others on this forum have had similar issues, the explanation makes sense.
