Hi there!
I have an iMac 21.5" and it's been having some Wi-Fi issues. I'm with KPN (a Dutch ISP) and we have an Arcadyan router from them. My iMac doesn't seem to like it though... I can connect (although it always takes very long) but after about five minutes, the Wi-Fi always drops. I stay connected to the network and I still have a DHCP lease, but I can't use the internet although my iMac says I can (pressing Option while clicking the Wi-Fi symbol and looking at the 'Internet' status says it's available). This is incredibly annoying and I have tried everything, but nothing works... Among others:
This has been happening on both Yosemite and El Capitan, which the iMac currently runs on.
I get this output from System Information (the iMac is set to Dutch):
For reference, this is what the Wi-Fi menu looks like when the internet works:
We have a number of other devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network that are not experiencing any other issues and never have. Although I know that doesn't mean the issue is necessarily related to the iMac, it's still pretty weird considering they're using the same settings in terms of DNS servers (tried both router's and Google's DNS, same behavior), etc. We have an Acer laptop that's been using Windows 8 and Windows 10 that works fine, about three MacBook Pro's, my MacBook 12" works fine as well, so does the MacBook Air.
According to my ISP, it's Apple's issue. AppleCare wants to charge me, though - I'm not gonna pay for something that should just work.
This is the "About my Mac" screen:
If you need any other information, please tell me and I'll add it!
Thanks in advance...
William
