Wi-Fi " Searching" even when connected to network?

My 11" 2011 MBA seems to want to keep searching for a Wi-Fi network - even when it is already connected to one?

Is that normal for an MBA? My MBP's just lock on and then the symbol at the top of the screen simply indicates the quality of the signal - whereas the MBA is cycling up and down?
