Wi-Fi when MBP is unplugged

Hey everyone, last night I installed firmware 10.5.8 on my 2.4GHz Penryn MBP and ever since then, I am unable to use Wi-Fi when my computer is unplugged. When my computer is plugged in I am able to use Wi-Fi, but the second I pull out my power cord, it immediately stops. Can someone please help me fix this problem? Thank in advance.
 
Repaired permissions yet or did an SMC reset?
