I just purchased a new 16:9 widescreen tv and I watch my dvds through my macbook using the vga input on my tv. However the widescreen movies are not taking up the full screen. There are the 2 black lines as if I was watching it on a 4:3 tv. Is this caused my settings on mac's dvd player? I don't seem to have the problem watching movies I downloaded off of itunes. so I'm thinking it's the dvd player settings. How can I fix this?

Are the lines like this = or like this || if it is the former, you are probably watching a DVD that has a widescreen ratio even wider than 16:9, if it is the former, then something is likely odd with your output.
