Widescreen iPhoto slideshow to iDVD doesn't work

Bit of a frustrating problem here. I've created a slideshow in iPhoto with the Ken Burns effect and music. I selected "Widescreen" under the slideshow aspect ratio option.
I try to export the movie to quicktime, and instead of a 16x9 movie, I get a 4:3 movie.
I try the "Share" menu "Send to iDVD" option, and I get a 16x9 widescreen movie in iDVD, but it has a green dagonal line running through the bottom left corner and the colour is gone!
I have no idea why it is doing this and no idea how to fix it.
Has anyone here succesfully made a widescreen slideshow from iPhoto?

Hi.
Got the same identical problem here.
Only if I choose 16:9 aspect ratio. In 4:3 the video file it creates in the movies folder works fine.
Have you found any workaround?

Sorry, I still haven't found a work around for this one yet. Let me know if you find anything anywhere.

Bringing back an old topic because I just encountered the same problem: widescreen iPhoto slideshow to widescreen iDVD project does not work. I still get the same diagonal line and washed out colours. Also as mentioned, 4:3 to 4:3 works fine.
