I found a Widgets folder with 21 widgets in it. It's in /Users/myname/Documents. When I double click to open them I get a There is no default application specified to open the doc "nameofwidget.widget" with a Cancel and Choose Application... buttons. When I click the Choose Application... button, Dashboard is grayed out. I chose Graphic Converter just to see what would happen and a window with what I'm guessing is code, popped up. I don't see any of them in my Dashboard widget list. How can I open them in Dashboard to see if I want to use them?

I don't know, I just found them in the Doc folder. It has some Yahoo widgets like, Contacts, Mail Checker, Maps, My Headlines and a few others. There's also iChat Bezel, iTunes Remote and Werewolf Monitor, whatever that's for, among others. I don't use Yahoo Widgets and I didn't download any of these from Apple's site either.
