Just upgraded to Tiger yesterday and have been playing around with different widgets. While it's cool that they are always on, just floating in the background, they don't really add anything more then the small apps and bookmarks I have been using.

But they do seem like they would be perfect for a wifi ipod (or tablet). The little bits of info you need quickly, updated and available on the go, managed from your mac. Next iPod will have wifi, bluetooth and widgets.

I doubt that widgets will be available in iPods, it's just speculations. We don't even know if iPods will have wifi anytime soon. Probably bluetooth, but I don't know about wifi. I've always found the Bluetooth iPod idea useless anyway. What's the point of not having to connenct your iPod to sync it if you will hace to connect it anyway when you charge it.

PS: Please, cool your beer before drinking it roadapple :p

Yeah, I guess it you have wifi you would not really need bluetooth (maybe wireless headphones?)

But I do think the widgets would be much more useful on a Palm or other handheld. They are cool on Tiger, but I can track my current UPS shipment from their page, itunes minimizes nicely now and I only need to check the status of my flight once a hour from my desktop.

But if I could use all the different widgets on the go, that would be something...

And sometimes the beers not cold, but thats ok too

Ya I don't see the iPods getting wifi anytime soon, but that would be cool. Would be nice for podcasting and such, to stream casts straight to the ipod... Widgets, while they look pretty cool (some of them) some are just not that useful. I think some look very useful, and and a single click you have all the info. Could check your flight, weather, and snow report in a single click before you wake up to head to the mountain... I think personally programed widgets would be much more useful... hopefully I can figure that out once I buy a mac.

Oh, and some beer is pretty good at room temperature (which would be warm to some standards, but hot beer is no good)
