wierd.. 3g expanding?

So.. My house has never had 3g coverage.. and just now I looked at my phone and it has 3g! Whats wierd is.. before today the closest 3g coverage was over 15 miles away..

this is really sweet, even if i'm only getting 3 bars compared to the 5 i get 15 miles away..

is there a site that shows updates to ATT's 3g network? Im psyched!

You know, on my way to work today I noticed extra coverage in warrenton, va. I NEVER used to have 3g, but I had 3 bars for a stretch of road to work.

On the coverage viewer on the cingular site does it say you have 3g coverage? They just recently updated it on 7/31 and where I am at still has no 3g coverage but the nearest place with 3g coverage is only 5 miles away.

come on AT&T, expand the Huntsville AL 3G up to the Tennessee line like the map shows already!

Nice! Now where the heck is my 3g...I live less than 20 miles from portland and I have no 3g whatsoever

Pretty awesome though, I didn't expect it and figured I wouldn't be seeing 3g in my area any time soon, so this is very pleasant. It's exceptionally fast also, averaging 14-1600kbps as opposed to my wifi which is around 2100-2400kbps

its nearly as fast and i've actually turned wifi because i figure i'll get my moneys worth from my plan haha.

Hmm so you are 15 miles from a 3g area according to the map and you are getting 3g??? Maybe I should get an iPhone 3g and test my luck to see if I have 3g also!

Thats right. Mind you i've owned the 3g since the 11th and today is the first day i've gotten 3g here, so i'm sure they just recently put up a tower. I drove ten miles even further from my house (my buddies house) and i still had a strong signal, so it has to be a new tower. I've been as ar as 25-30 miles away from where it used to kick in and it's working.
