Right my battery on my 2009 5.2 has gone its 3 years old so to be expected. Strange thing is in system info it says it has only done 89 cycles even though it has max capacity of 2000 amps or whatever it is. Now I know the 2000 is right but has the cycles been reset as this is very low and obviously wrong.

If your battery is toast, it's possible some readings are inaccurate. Have you used your Mac plugged in most of the time, or have you run on battery power a lot? Use iStat Pro (free) or iStat Menus ($16) to get accurate readings of your battery, temps, fan speeds and much more. You can also try resetting the SMC, although it's very likely you simply need a new battery.

The link below should answer most, if not all, of your battery/charging questions. If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend you take the time to read it.

Cheers yeah the battery has had its day I would say only lasts an hour and a half was just wondering why the cycles were so low like you said probably corrupt something out of interest the cycles don't et reset do they with installing a new os
