Wierd problem with Iphone start-up

When I got home I shut my phone off to go to take a nap, I turned it on to call my buddy and it showed that I had to connect it to itunes because the phone was locked.. I shut it back off and turned it back on again.. When it came back on it was fine.. WHAT GIVES.. I never had that happen before.. What could it be...

If you had searched you would have noticed this is a relatively common thing. I'm not giving you crap but there's a search button and this would have resolved your issue, other people have had the same thing happen to them.
