Me and my wife's AT&T service is in her name for both phones. I am designated on the AT&T account as the authorized user. My wife is unavailable on 6/24 to come with me on an hour drive to the nearest (only) Apple store in the state due to work obligations (Apple should have made everyone wait 2 weeks after preorder date IMO). Will I be able to pick up our iPhone 4s myself with the phone service set the way it is? Other options for reservation were not possible today...

After fighting the AT&T website beginning at 3am EST for 40 mins, sleeping til noon and battling it more from noon til 4pm with great failure I was able to use the Apple Store iPhone app to preorder one iP4 with my phone around 4:30pm, just as AT&T conveniently sold out. My wife tried the same and got a message from the app that "due to volume, orders can only be placed online at http:...". She used the website and pre-ordered with her AppleID. My concern is that I need her with me at the Apple store at pickup because of the phone service plan. I called the Apple Store and they told me they have a strict policy on the reservation being picked up by the person that made the reservation and also holding the account for service for the upgrade pricing to hold. There's no way I am going to pay $699 to upgrade my wife's phone. When I called the Apple Store to get more detail on the service holder aspect they were closed. I called Apple corporate and then admitted they did not know the store policy but told me they are strict. I had about a 30-45minute wait calling either Apple or the store each time today.

I have a similar concern..

I'm a authorized user under my fathers at&t account, but I used my apple ID to reserve the IPhone. Got the email to confirm it's reserved. How does apple handle these situations ? Can I just go in and say gimmie my iphone guppies :D I'm a Authorized user, Look :p

Primary account holder has to be present at Apple. You will be disappointed.

My wife and I are together on an account in her name but I'm an authorized user and I've have went in the store to upgrade before and not had a problem. The only problem I had was the FAN discount and all I had to do was call ATT and have them remove it, then it was immediately reflected which allowed me to buy the iPhone.
