Well I was on the fence about 625nits vs 800 on the Pro, and the 11 Pro/Max having 770-800 but when mine is next to hers, hers is a lot brighter. Same settings on both for brightness, etc.

Anyone noticing their 12 is brighter? Or have both 12 and pro and notice any brightness differences between the two?

I believe the 11 Pros have 800 nit typical brightness, just like the 12 Pro. While there is some variation between displays, I wouldn't expect a difference at max brightness. Are you sure that auto brightness just hasn't been "trained" to be dimmer on your phone? I believe it attempts to adapt as you make manual changes to brightness.

Auto brightness is turned off on both, as well as any other aids too.

Interesting. I known the new phone have the new harder display glass, but I’d be surprised if Apple used a material that inhibited quality. Perhaps you received a bad unit?

which is the bad unit? Both our 11 pro maxes are the same brightness compared to her new 12, which is a lot brighter.
