I bought a late 2005 G5. The guy i got it from took the wifi/bluetooth card out. I tried to contact him to see why he took it out plus to get the part number to find a other on online. But he not getting back to me. I looked on ebay. They have lot of them on there but i don't know which model will fit and work in mine. Thanks for the help i get.

From your post I assume that the card you mean is the combo Airport/BT card, correct?

Only three PowerMac G5s had that combo card and those are the 2.0, 2.3 DualCores and the 2.5 Quad. The combo card is is the same in all three. You said your Mac is a Late 2005 G5, so it's either one of these models. If it's aircooled then it's a DualCore.

In any case, the combo card works in all three and these are the only three models that have it. So, shouldn't be hard to find. Be careful though, I believe the early MacPros also had this and I don't believe those are compatible.

Did the person you bought the G5 from leave the ramp card in the Mac, or take the entire thing?

The ramp card is the part that the combo module attaches to and that actually plugs into the slot on the logicboard. Those are more expensive and probably that is why the seller took it.

It may not be what you want, but for a cheap solution buy a wifi extender with ethernet port. You can find them for about $15 online.

Plug it in close to your G5, attach ethernet cable, done.

Mine is the 2ghz late 2005. He took everything. All I have left is the two antenna wires left. The ramp card is gone too.

Then you'll need to find both the ramp card and the module. The entire thing works in the three models I named, so it doesn't matter which model you get it for as long as it's one of the three.

You can plug a regular AirPort Extreme card without the need for the ramp, there’s no Bluetooth in it that way though. You’ll need your own antennas too, the built in ones only work with the ramp card which is pretty much unobtainium at this point.

This is my preferred solution because the Wifi implementation on the G5 is obsolete and I'm running a Wifi 6 router in my home. Bluetooth if you need it can be added with a USB dongle.
