What is WiFi Assist do, and can we turn it off? It appears to me it's using data, which can lead into cost, which was NOT discussed with me when I bought this iphone.

I turned it off awhile ago. I saw times where the phone flipped to 5G when there was a strong WiFi signal at that location - I measured it with a software program. It did it very randomly. Never had a problem with phone calls with it off in the house.

So, is this an added charge? Here is where I am going with this. I went to Verizon to trade in my iPhone 14 pro for the 16 Pro Max. They told me my plane doesn't support a trade in and they suggested I get a plan that does, and so I did. I was told my trade in was going to be around a thoussand dollars. My iPhone was completely paid off. I felt like Verizon was scamming me. I love how they explain how your trade is put to the new iPhone, which is not day's, month's, but years later. I still feel like I got ripped off, and probably did, for an iPhone that takes multiple taps to respond on the screen.

You can return the phone however the bugs generally get squished over time.
