Wifi calling question

I have wifi calling enabled on my iphone and there are times I leave my iphone at home when I am I am running my business and I use my apple watch to receive and make calls using wifi calling but now I realize there are days when it works and some days when wifi calling does not work on my apple watch series 2. Anyone else have this issue?
